HIGH DEFINITION
Radley Video has been filming in High Definition for over 2 years, with popular productions being edited in High Definition. Since October 2010 virtually all productions have been edited in High Definition and made available on Blu-ray disc.
We have reduced the price of most Blu-ray discs to £14, and include a standard DVD in the same case.
UPGRADE TO BLU-RAY FOR £5
We would like everybody to see the best possible picture quality, and if you have already purchased a DVD at the standard price, we can supply the blu-ray version for £5. This will be supplied in a holder which will clip into your existing DVD case. We accept cash or cheques - payable to Radley College. If you supply your address, we will post it free of charge. Note that a blu-ray player is required - these have fallen in price - see examples below. A blu-ray player is backwards compatible, and will play your exisiting DVDs and CDs.
THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE MISSING:

Both pictures are highly magnified views of an HD TV screen, photographed with a stills camera.
Both are from The School Play, and are of identical magnifications.
The first is from a standard DVD, the second from a Blu-ray disc.
WARNING: Don't pay over £10 for your HDMI lead
The HDMI lead is required to link your Blu-ray player with your HD or HD Ready TV. High street shops make a limited profit selling players and TVs and may be anxious to provide an HDMI lead at a vastly inflated price. Typical prices are £40 to £60, and some longer HDMI leads are priced at over £100. You can buy good quality HDMI leads for under £10 from Amazon or CPC.
BLU-RAY PLAYER PRICES HAVE FALLEN TO UNDER £100 - SEE EXAMPLES ON AMAZON.
Using Amazon, it's also easy to check (by clicking on "See more technical details"), that it will play BD-R dics - see below...
Blu-ray discs which are made using a blu-ray burner (as used in low-volume production) are known as BD-R dics. All the new blu-ray players we have checked will play BD-R dics. Some older machines may not (due to a coyright issue between maufacturers and film studios). So, if using a Blu-Ray player, please check that it plays BD-R. (It's the "-R" part that matters). Here is a list of players that we have checked and include BD-R playback in their specifications - but all the new players we have checked recently are compatible with BD-R, so the following is only a sample list.
